Welcome to the European Aquaculture Society - Student Group (EAS-SG)!
Founded in May 2005 in Norway, the European Aquaculture Society - Student Group (EAS-SG) has evolved into one of the leading student organizations in the field of aquaculture. Our mission is to unite students from over 20 countries who are passionate about aquaculture and related disciplines.
Our Mission
EAS-SG aims to:
- Increase Participation: Engage young individuals in EAS activities.
- Facilitate Exchange: Share research information and work experiences.
- Voice Concerns: Represent student perspectives and concerns.
- Connect Students: Provide networking and exchange opportunities.
- Organize Events: Host Student Workshops and other activities at Annual EAS Conferences.
New EAS Membership Options from 1 September 2026
From 1 September 2026, EAS is introducing new membership options to support students as they progress in their careers and to strengthen our focus on European aquaculture.
EAS Student Membership
From 1 September 2026, EAS Student Membership will be available only to students studying at a university in Europe, regardless of their nationality.
Students currently holding an EAS Student Membership who are studying outside Europe will not be able to renew their Student Membership. However, they are welcome to continue their EAS membership as an Individual Member.
The list of eligible countries is based on the Wikipedia list of European Sovereign States and Dependent Territories, while recognising that not all of these countries have university-level aquaculture courses or curricula.
The following countries are eligible for EAS Student Membership from 1 September 2026:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
Please note that eligibility is based on the country where the student is studying, not their nationality.
Individual Member, Transition
To support students moving from student life into their professional careers, EAS is introducing a new Individual Member, Transition membership.
This option is available to EAS Student Members who:
- have held EAS Student Membership for at least one year, and
- are studying or have studied at a university in Europe.
The Transition Membership costs €45 and is valid for a maximum of one year.
After the Transition Membership expires, members can continue their EAS membership as a regular Individual Member, currently €90 per year.

During Plenary 1 at Aquaculture Europe 2025 in Valencia, Spain, the EAS Student Group presented a special video celebrating 20 years of growth, collaboration, and student engagement in aquaculture.
