New Editor in Chief for Aquaculture International (AQUI)

The European Aquaculture Society congratulates Dr. Daniel Merrifield on his appointment as the next Editor in Chief of Aquaculture International (AQUI), the official journal of EAS.  

This marks an important new chapter for one of the longest-standing journals in our field. We are pleased to see AQUI continue under Daniel’s leadership and look forward to the innovations he will bring.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Professor Gavin Burnell, former EAS President (2018-2020), who is stepping down after more than 25 years as Editor in Chief. His long-standing service has significantly shaped the journal’s reputation and scientific impact.

Our gratitude also goes to Professor Brian Austin, whose dedication in recent years has helped maintain the journal’s high standards and global relevance.

On behalf of EAS, we thank Gavin and Brian for their exceptional contributions to the aquaculture research community and look forward to continued collaboration with Daniel and the AQUI editorial team as the journal enters an exciting new phase.
