With an anticipated 9 billion people expected to inhabit the planet by 2050, the demand for animal protein is expected to increase by more than 50%. Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing food production sectors and has great potential for ensuring future food security for the world’s growing population. However, given this global development of aquaculture production, concerns are also being raised about the environmental consequences and the on-going sustainability credentials. These concerns continue grow as the aquaculture sector expands and it is vital that the industry focusses on strategies to ensure sustainable and affordable growth.
This presentation will provide an insight into how the incorporation of enzymes into aquaculture feeds can improve the nutritional value of feed, reduce environment impact and become part of an effective strategy to support profitable and sustainable growth within the aquaculture sector.
